I keep hearing that an email list is the ultimate 'moat' for your business, but I have literally 12 subscribers after three months. I have a link to a freebie sign-up in my product descriptions. What am I doing wrong? How do you guys get people to actually sign up?

Make sure your sign-up call-to-action is on the *first page* of your freebie download, not just in the product description. Most teachers bypass description links entirely. Also, make sure the freebie matches the niche you want to sell — don't offer a generic planner if you want to sell middle school science!

Do you have a freebie in your actual TPT shop that contains a PDF with a direct link to a high-value landing page? That's where 90% of my signups come from.

Maybe make the incentive bigger! A simple 1-page worksheet might not be enough. Try offering a mini-bundle or an editable template that solves a major pain point.
